The Logic of the Future? Pierce's Existential Graphs — Annica Vieser

Abstract:

Are you tired of drawing natural deduction trees? In my talk, you will get to know an alternative that, in my opinion, makes syntactic derivations almost a mystical experience: Charles Sanders Peirce’s existential graphs. I will present the existential graphs for propositional and predicate logic, and the philosophical background that made Peirce claim that the existential graphs would be the “logic of the future”.
